This work was born from a reflection on time and how it shapes the form of our existence.
The installation, conceived as a visual journey, consists of a row of driftwood on the floor and a series of watercolors on paper installed on the wall in a single vertical column.
The pieces of wood, collected over the year, represent how the passing of time changes the shape of our minds. In my work, I reflect on the representation of the sea as a metaphor for the non-linearity of existence. Life as a succession of high and low tides, storms and waves that smooth our boundaries and, like pieces of driftwood, shape us into new forms.
The installation continues with a series of watercolors on paper, a reflection on water as a representation of the path through which the mind manages to rise from an earthly world to reach a more spiritual dimension.
