A new painting in light blue, finished some days ago after he stayed one year in my other studio in Tuscany. With oil painting, you can’t literally decide when move your paintings since they’re still wet. Some paintings need the patience of waiting for it.

First painting of the year, part of a series of large works inspired by the horizontal perception of time. We’re living a sort of forced stillness in these hard two years, but above all it’s also an occasion for starting to slow down and open ourself to the slowliness of this moment, accepting it and embracing it as a gift. The most precious thing that we have in our life is time, and it’s time to celebrate it in his horizontality.
